Meat with tahini pie, it is one of the delicious traditional pastry in Saudi Arabia particularly in Western Region which is made of homemade dough. The dough filling by minced meat with onion, leek, eggs and tahini, then spicing the dough by vinegar, salt, pepper and cumin.
What you'll need to :
* For Dough;
2 cups of flour.
2/3 cup of milk.
2 large spoon of butter.
1 egg.
1 tea spoon baking powder.
1/4 tea spoon salt.
1/4 tea spoon fennel.
1/4 tea spoon Nigella sativa.
1/4 tea spoon Cardamom.
* For Filling;
1 & 1/2 cup of minced meat.
2 onion.
1/4 tea spoon pepper.
1/4 tea spoon cumin.
1/4 tea spoon salt.
1 cup of leek.
2 eggs.
5 table spoon Tahini.
3 table spoon White vinegar.
1 tea spoon flower oil.
Cooking time : 10-15 mins.
Perpetration time : 60 mins.
Servings : 8 .
Method :
Mixed flour, baking powder and spices together , then add eggs, butter and milk. mastication dough well until you got soft and coherent one, then cover it for about an hour.
Minced the onion and leek , cook the onion separately before adding the meat. After that add the spices and leave it for a while to cool.
add the leek , tahini and vinegar to minced meat.
Paint the tray by oil and spread the dough on it handily and push the dough over the sides .
Put the filling above the dough and backed on oven till you see all side become red.
Now cut it as you like , served it , and ,,, enjoy.
